South Molton stepped up the pace in the second half to beat visiting Lanner 24-10.

South Molton stay in sixth position despite the win, but have opened up a nine-point gap between themselves and seventh-placed Topsham.

Lanner led 10-9 at the break, but Molton’s pack took control after the interval.

Molton had to make do with just three Callum Stone penalties in the opening 40 minutes.

South Molton went ahead early in the second half with a try by Tom Clarke, which was quickly followed by one from the powerful Dan Smith and one from debutant Tom Worsley.

Molton are away to bottom side Hayle this Saturday.

Torrington, who had no game in Devon One last Saturday, are matchless for the second week in a row.
