BARNSTAPLE martial arts celebrity Matt Fiddes has been awarded his 6th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Matt, 28, was bestowed the impressive accolade - usually achieved by much older recipients -by the Martial Arts Teachers' Association. The award - unlike the five dans he had already achieved - was given based on contributions to the martial arts world.Master John Graden, president of the Martial Arts Teachers' Association, said that for most martial artists, earning a black belt was an internationally recognised "significant goal."Mr Graden said: "Rarely have we seen a level of technical skill and leadership as we have in Matt Fiddes."Adding to his credibility is the fact that he has accomplished more at the age of 28 years old than most martial artists have in a lifetime of training."A surprised Matt was presented with his award by glamour model and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Danielle Lloyd, whom he has been training kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do as methods of self-defence following concerns over a stalker."He's a good teacher and it is amazing what he has achieved," said Miss Lloyd.
