BIDEFORD Blues under-10s won their age group in the Sandymere six-a-side football tournament on Saturday. They won all their group games, beating South Molton 2-0 (goals by Callum Taylor, Alex Hannam), Ilfracombe 1-0 (Callum Taylor) and Braunton Madrid

BIDEFORD Blues under-10s won their age group in the Sandymere six-a-side football tournament on Saturday.They won all their group games, beating South Molton 2-0 (goals by Callum Taylor, Alex Hannam), Ilfracombe 1-0 (Callum Taylor) and Braunton Madrid 3-0 (Callum Taylor, George King and Alex Hannam).After a bye in the quarter-finals they met Woolsery Reds in the semi-final and fought back from 1-0 down with two goals from Callum Taylor to run out 2-1 winners. Braunton Wanderers defeated SAS Warriors in the other semi-final.After six minutes each way the teams were still deadlocked in the final with both missing opportunities to settle the match. Toby Robinson pulled off a great save in the second half to keep the Blues in the game and into extra time.Midway through the first half of extra time the Blues had a corner taken by Charlie White and Callum Taylor headed home the winner.
