Moran hits three on first game back for Shammy following 12-month injury lay-off
DEAN Moran scored a memorable hat-trick for Shamwickshire Reserves in his first game for the club in a little over a year.
The striker, who has been assisting first team manager Gary Ford since sustaining a foot injury in the first round of last season’s Devon Premier Cup, shared top billing with Jake England, who also hit three in a convincing 7-0 win against Barnstaple AAC Reserves.
Phil Kemp was also on target for Shammy at the Pollyfield.
Chittlehampton came from behind to end Park United’s unbeaten start to the season.
Steve Skinner and Dave Brown fired Park into a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes before a Jamie Giffard hat-trick and strikes by Kevin Latham and Ciaron Lishman gave the hosts a 5-2 turn-around. Skinner added Park’s third before the end.
Simon Larcombe scored a hat-trick for Wrey Arms as they climbed to fourth in the Senior table with a 6-2 win at home to Woolsery.
Chay West and Lee Capner were also on target for Wrey, who face champions Pilton Academicals this weekend. Mischa Howe and Nick Glover scored the consolation goals for Woolsery.
South Molton came from behind against Northam Lions to win 3-1 at Old Allswear Road.
After the break, Jamie Ousley put two in the net for the Images and Tyler Newnham finished off the scoring just before final whistle.
In other results North Molton Reserves beat Braunton Reserves 3-2 and Bude Town were 3-1 winners at home to Torrington Reserves.
Leaders Bideford were without a game at the weekend. They beat Torrington Reserves 8-1 at the Sports Ground on Wednesday night. Nathan Bate scored three and there were singles for Tom Hayne, Sam Stephens, Rikki Williams, Ross McNicholas and Chris Smailes. Tom Hawkes scored the consolation for Torrie.
