Young people interested in entering trials for an advanced development centre can do so now.

TRIALS for Torquay United FC’s unique development centres have opened in Bideford for upcoming players under 15.

The Torquay United FC Advanced Development Centre is urging club managers, schools and parents to nominate players to attend the trials.

The evening try outs will be held at Bideford College, and players will be expected to attend all three on May 1, 8 and 15 unless otherwise agreed.

Under sevens, eights, nines, 10s and under 11s will be held from 6pm-7pm, Under 12s and Under 13s from 7pm-8pm and under 14s and under 15s from 8pm-9pm.

The Advanced Development Centre try to emulate a professional club’s youth department by giving players the opportunity to receive professional coaching and to play in a games programme against players from other professional clubs.

Players will be given maximum opportunities to develop their skills without affecting existing club commitments.

The trials will be held on the artificial 3g surface so players will need trainers and/or mould/dimpled footwear. Players will also need a drinks bottle and shin pads.

The centre will be looking for a good level of technical ability, a receptive attitude to learning and improving and ambition and motivation to develop and play to the highest level possible.

Anyone wishing to attend the trials must register by calling the administration office on 0845 003 7339 or contacting trials manager, Carla Kennett, on 07792 010011 or emailing carla@elitedc.org
