New faces shine again as Town’s positive pre-season continues

Barnstaple Town's impressive pre-season form continued with convincing wins over Holsworthy and Fremington,

Town won their first away game of pre-season 5-1 at Holsworthy, and Bulley's side look well set for their next challenge - a 'friendly' with Bideford on Tuesday evening.

Scott Sharp found the net twice for Barum, while Cory Roach, Ryan Turner and Danny Jenkins all added to the scoresheet.

"It's great for the confidence of the players and to get ready for the new season," said manager Tom Bulley.

"The Bideford game will be a good test for us and all the players are looking forward to that one. I have to remind them that it's only a friendly."

Bulley also said that it was 'a shame' that Ilfracombe had pulled out of the game they had scheduled for this Saturday.

Town continued their winning start to pre-season earlier in the week with a 4-0 drubbing of Fremington, adding to the 2-1 win over Tavistock the previous Saturday.

The North Devon Gazette Football League 2012-13 Senior champions couldn't compete with Barum, who again had new faces on the score sheet.

Frontman Ryan Turner opened his account for the club with two goals and Danny Jenkins also found the net for the home side. Canadian Maksym Kowal continued to impress, scoring again to add to his strike at the weekend.
