Barnstaple Town face a tricky start to life in the Toolstation Western League First Division.

Town face three of last year's top six in their first four league games, and with an FA Cup game sandwiched in between will play five games in 14 days.

Barum are looking to bounce straight back into the Premier division after a disappointing 2012-13 campaign saw them relegated to the First Division with just 13 points from their 38 games.

They kick off their promotion challenge on Saturday August 10 with a home match against Corsham Town, who were fourth in the division last season, before a midweek trip to Chard Town, who are looking to build on last year's sixth place finish.

Barum then face a tough test in the FA Cup, playing host to last season's Western Premier runners-up Brislington, followed by a home fixture with Wincanton Town and an away day at Oldlands Abbotonians the following week.

Town are disappointed with the fixture computer's Boxing Day and New Year's Day offerings; they travel to Wellington on Boxing Day and do not play on New Year's Day, traditionally the best dates for attracting large crowds in the football calendar.

Barnstaple finish the season with a home game against Bradford Town, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier last year after finishing third.
