WITHIN hours of their arrival in North Devon the Rotary Club Brazilian youth football team, visiting as guests of Braunton Rotary Club, were imparting their skills to youngsters at the annual soccer knock out competition on Lobb Field. While the youngsters awaited their turn to compete in the competition the boys from Brazil helped tune their skills on the practice ground. The Brazilians have little English, but that didn't seem to matter as the language of football proved universal. The Brazilian youth team ,from Joao Pessoa-Pb, will be playing against some local teams as well as competing in the Tiverton Blundells school 'World Championship' event tomorrow, Thursday. The visit is a joint effort between the Braunton Rotary club and the rotary club of Joao Pessoa-Pb that came about following a visit to the Brazillian club last year. The team will be in the area until June 1, when they have a visit to the Houses of Parliament before flying back.
