FOOTBALLERS are known for mazy runs with the ball and avoiding all opposition - but not many have tried it for five miles along the Tarka Trail!Players from North Devon College's North Devon Academicals six-a-side team did just that on Sunday with a charity sponsored dribble from Braunton to Barnstaple. They were raising money for Braunton Out of School Club, which offers out of school care for children from four to 11-years-old at Christ Church in the village.Captain and organiser Darren Moore said they planned to raise money for the team, but when they heard about the good work of the club they wanted to help."The dribbling was hard," he said. "The football means you have to concentrate the whole way and the Tarka Trail isn't that flat!"Lee Francis managed the fastest time in 35 minutes, not bad considering he had played - and scored twice - for Barnstaple Town the day before!
