Ilfracombe Town came back from behind twice to earn a point at Axminster Town in the South West Peninsula League East Division on Saturday.
The Bluebirds drew 2-2 with the fifth-placed Tigers, with the point putting them eighth in the division.
The hosts took the lead after 25 minutes when Luke Finn got on the end of a through ball and rifled home from a tight angle.
CJ Roberts equalised for Ilfracombe 20 minutes into the second half with a superb solo effort, beating a couple of players and finishing from a tight angle past keeper Ashley Smith.
The parity was short-lived though, with Finn getting his second of the game seven minutes later.
The Bluebirds sealed a point eight minutes of time when Dave Slade powered a header home from a corner.
Manager Clem Bennellick said: “In the end I’m very happy with a point. They’re a good side, a lot of teams have dropped points there and we almost nicked it.
“We had four or five of our regulars missing but our younger players stepped up.”
Ilfracombe’s attentions now turn to Saturday’s Walter C Parson Cup tie at home to Elburton Villa.
A win over the Premier side would take the Bluebirds into the quarter finals.
Elburton sit third from bottom in the division, having picked up 10 points from 12 games.
The other North Devon sides are back in action in the league, with Appledore taking on St Martins and Torridgeside hosting Crediton United.
Holsworthy go to Plymouth Marjon in the West Division.
