Torridgeside continued their unbeaten start in the South West Peninsula League East Division on Saturday with their first win in three games.

After draws against Ilfracombe Town and Brixham, T-Side got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win against Teignmouth in what was their fourth consecutive game at Donnacroft.

Marc Bettiss opened the scoring for Torridgeside, with Brian Levien adding the second as Barry Paine’s side kept a clean sheet for the first time this season.

Appledore were unable to follow-up on their first win of the season with more points, losing 3-1 to Alphington at Marshford on Saturday.

The visitors were 2-0 up at the break after goals from Lucas White and Ryan Moody, but the Fishermen pegged them back in the second half with another great finish from Ben Whitecross.

Mark Saunders finished the game off to give the Alphas the points.

“We were okay in patches, but we didn’t have a goalkeeper,” said manager Keith Shapland.

“The first half wasn’t good by the second was a lot better. We got ourselves back into it but they scored with a long shot. It was a difficult day.”

Ilfracombe had a break from the East Division to play in the Builbase FA Vase for the first time in five years.

They travelled to Premier side St Austell, where they were beaten 3-1 after giving a very good account of themselves.

The Bluebirds went in at half-time 1-0 up thanks to a CJ Roberts finish.

Martin Giles equalised in the second half before the hosts pulled away with goals from Liam Eddy and Mark Goldsworthy.

Ilfracombe are back in action in the East Division on Saturday when they travel to Liverton United. Two days later they travel to Crediton United.

Torridgeside have a trip to Bovey Tracey and Appledore travel to Newton Abbot Spurs.

Holsworthy were back in action in the West Division on Saturday, drawing 2-2 at Dobwalls. They are back at home this Saturday for the visit of Liskeard Athletic before a Tuesday night match at home to Bere Alston United.
