Bideford made it three pre-season friendly wins in a row with a win over a Plymouth XI at the Sports Ground on Moday evening.

The Robins ran out 2-0 winners in a strong performance, with goals in either half from the in-form Craig Duff and former Torquay United man Saul Halpin proving enough.

Bideford put six past the South West Peninsula Premier outfit Exmouth Town in a fine 6-0 win on Friday evening, with two goals for Rob Farkins and one for Matt Bye.

Ethan Phillips and Craig Duff picked up where they left off in the Willand game, with each netting for the visitors.

Bideford got their pre-season off to a winning start two days earlier with a 3-0 win at Western Premier League side Willand Rovers.

The Robins ran out comfortable winners and gave debuts to several players in a genuine game of two halves, with a completely different XI coming out for the second half.

Recent signing Duff scored twice on his debut, and Phillips was also on target.

“It was a good competitive game and we played well considering we’ve only trained once so far,” said Bideford manager Sean Joyce.

“We had eight or nine lads playing their first games for us and this was the first time a lot of them have played together.”
