Saturday saw third-placed Welton Rovers making the trip to Mill Road, with Barnstaple pushing hard from the off. The sides cancelled each other out, though, with Towns possession not proving enough to find a way through. Top scorer Ryan Turner had Towns best chance, but he was unable to finish his one-on-one opportunity after running through on goal. But an 11th clean sheet in a row meant they at least took a point from the match, enough to keep them five points ahead of second-placed Cribbs with a game in hand. The draw also set a new club record of 34 league games without defeat. Barnstaple won on their travels last Wednesday, with the only goal of the game at Warminster coming from Dave Pearse. Pearse headed Town in front late in the first half to earn all three points and keep Barry Yeos team well on track for the league title. Barnstaple now have just six league games left to play and are still competing for the Les Phillips Cup, too. This Easter weekend they go to Wellington. Their Friday game means they will then have an eight-day break before their next cup tie.
