Two second-half goals in as many minutes saw Bideford to a 2-0 defeat at Hungerford.

The Robins were in action on Monday night, just two days after getting a 0-0 draw against Chesham United.

Bideford will be pleased with their performance at Hungerford, and could have taken the lead after an impressive first-half performance and a penalty appeal that was turned down.

But a brilliant strike from Mike Jones from the edge of the box on 68 minutes and Nat Jarvis on 70 sealed defeat for the Robins.

Despite the defeat, Bideford manager Sean Joyce was pleased with the performance of his side.

He said: "We carried on from Saturday really and went forward and attacked them.

"We had great spells in the first half and a blatant penalty turned down when Kevin Squires was pulled down.

"The ref bottled it though. He was poor tonight."

Bideford were forced to make changes going into Monday's game, with four players not making the journey to Hungerford.

Despite this, Joyce was quick to applaud his team's efforts.

"I can't fault the effort and work rate that the team put in.

"We're working hard, and we're building, we just need to get some goals to boost the confidence."
