Rounding up the weekend’s North Devon League action.
Four goals from Simon Townsend and a hat trick from Joe Seldon were the big contributions in Braunton’s 9-1 win over Fremington in the weekend’s only North Devon Gazette Premier Division fixture.
Ryan Hawkes and Sam Box also scored for the home side, with Simon Larcombe scoring for Fremington.
The win sees Braunton go level on points with Torridgeside, who now only lead the table by virtue of goal difference.
In the Senior, Georgeham & Croyde picked up a huge win against Shamwichshire Reserves, reaching double figures in a 10-1 away win.
Merton picked their first home win of the season with a 2-1 win against Putford.
Their goals came courtesy of James Ashton and an own goal, while Chris Pomeroy scored for the visitors.
The win moves Merton up five places in the Senior, with those below them having games in hand.
There were three fixtures in Intermediate One this weekend. Sporting Barum kept their 100 per cent record in tact with a last gasp winner against Braunton Thirds at home.
Barum won 2-1 in a game that saw seven yellow cards. Damian Green and Liam Hawkins got the goals for the away side, while Oliver Bennett found the net for Braunton.
Patrick Tucker scored a brace as High Bickington moved up to third with a 4-0 win against South Molton. James Manning and Chris Hutchings also scored for the home side.
Morwenstow Reserves picked up their first win since October on Sunday with a 3-1 home win against Landkey.
Ilfracombe Thirds continue to set the pace at the top of the Intermediate Two, winning 9-0 at Woolsery.
Mark Sanders scored twice for Fremington Reserves in a 7-0 win over bottom-of-the table Putford Reserves. Neil Armstrong, Adam Cornish, James Galliford, Ben Layland and Curtis Netherway were also on the score sheet.
