The scrap for silverware might be settled, but there was still plenty of pride to play for in the North Devon Gazette Premier Division.Runners-up Torridgeside will be playing South West Peninsula League football next season after confirmation of the clubs place in Division One East was announced this week. But they were unable to get the better of third-placed Boca Seniors on Wednesday night. With honours even this season Torrie beat Boca on penalties in the Brayford Cup in March and Boca beat Torrie 2-0 in the league in April the rivals drew 2-2 in a competitive and well-contested game at the Tarka Tennis Centre. Harry Stevens scored both goals for Torridgeside, while Jake Crush and Scott Sharp found the net for Boca. In other games on Wednesday night, Barnstaple FC and Appledore Reserves also shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Ben Paul and substitute Ryan Elston scored for Barnstaple, while the Appledore goals were scored by Phil Roberts and Joe Wretham. Nathan Delaune scored both goals for Torrington in a 2-0 win against North Molton. On Saturday, Brodie Montague scored five as Ilfracombe Town beat Park United 8 3 at Marlborough Park. While Montague nearly doubled his league total for the season in one game, the clubs top scorer, Pete Varley, scored two to take his season tally to 23. Robert Taylor was also on target for the Bluebirds. Ten-men Park limped over the line in their final game, Tom Summers scoring two and Luis Wilkins scoring one in reply. Ilfracombe wrap up their season at Shebbear United on Saturday. In the divisions other game on Saturday, Shebbear beat Barnstaple FC 4-2. For more North Devon sport click here.
