Ex-Equalizers fire league leaders Fremington to a 5-2 win

ANDREW and Wayne Parkhouse were on target for Intermediate One leaders Fremington in a comfortable 5-2 win against Equalizers on Saturday.

The brothers partnered each other up front for the first time in a Fremmy shirt and linked up well together against their old club.

Centre back Shaun Ley opened the scoring with a thunderous strike into the bottom corner. Fremington’s other goals came courtesy of a deflected effort by Matt Ford and a debut goal by former Barnstaple AAC player Luke Rigler.

Richard Davey scored three and Daniel Slee scored two as Hartland overcame Northam Lions Reserves with a 5-1 win at Burrough farm.

Woolacombe and Mortehoe continued their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive 2-1 win at home to Northside Atlantic

In their toughest test to date, Morte took the lead 15 minutes in when Stuart Haynes beat the keeper with a brave header.

Northside snatched an equalizer from a corner and with all three points being fiercely fought by both sides, Haynes smashed in the winner five minutes from time after a fine free kick by Jamie Duffield.

Daniel Wright hit a hat-trick As Ilfracombe Thirds went on the goal rampage against Sporting Barum. Olivier Dept scored two and there were singles for Damon Reed, Ki Standley and Steve Burns in the 8-1 win.
