Park United lifted the Brayford Cup on Saturday night to make it a league and cup double.

Park beat North Molton 2-1 in the final at Barnstaple Town's Mill Road ground.

It's the first time a team has won the North Devon Premier and the Brayford Cup in the same season since Torridgeside in 2012/13.

First half goals from Chris Brown and John Downing put Park in the box seat.

Brown headed in from a set piece early on before John Downing smashed an effort into the top corner midway through the half.

North Molton rallied in the second half and reduced the deficit through Lewis Setherton.

A penalty save from Tyler Yarde with 20 minutes remaining kept the game at 2-1.

Phill Kelly was sent off for a second booking with 10 minutes remaining, with 10-man Park seeing the game out to win.

Park manager Adam Eley said: "It was a cup final that had everything, but to be involved it was a bit of a nightmare!

"We came in at half time knowing we had only done half a job, and knew North Molton would come strong in the second half like they always do. It played out that way.

"The penalty, which luckily for us Tyler saved, made you think maybe it was our night.

"The lads have been really impressive and to get the trophy back again has been huge. They've done really well have been really committed all year."
