Boca Seniors will meet Shamwickshire Rovers on the first day of the season in a revamped North Devon Football League.

The clash between the two Premier stalwarts on August 18 is the pick of the six matches in the division. Defending champions Park United start their campaign at home to Torridgeside Reserves.

North Molton, who finished second last year, travel to Bradworthy. Braunton, who missed out on promotion to the South West Peninsula League by finishing fourth last season, host Ilfracombe Town Reserves.

Fremington’s game against Hartland Clovelly and newcomers Pilton Academicals trip to Torrington complete the opening day Premier fixtures.

The Premier is now one of five divisions, with a new Intermediate Three division added.

Each division will have smaller leagues of 11 or 12 teams in a bid to prevent the fixture backlogs seen last season as a result of extreme weather. The smaller divisions mean there will also be no mandatory midweek matches at the beginning of the season.

Boca Seniors’ new reserve team start in the 12-team Senior division away to Barnstaple FC. Torrington FC, promoted from Intermediate One, travel to Combe Martin Cup winners Appledore Reserves.

Other new sides entering the league are Lynton, Kingsley Park and Kingsley Wizards, who each start in Intermediate Three.

Lynton start the season at home to Park Rangers, Kingsley Park welcome Ashwater to Victoria Park, and Kingsley Wizards will play Bradworthy Reserves at Bratton Fleming.

Georgeham and Croyde and Chittlehampton have both been forced to withdraw ahead of the 2018/19 season.
