Premier Some of the North Devon Football Leagues in-form teams met each other in the Premier Division on Saturday. At Rocksfield, North Molton hosted unbeaten Ilfracombe Town Reserves, with The Stags ending the Bluebirds run with a 3-1 win. Two goals from James Giffard and one from Matt Beveridge helped North Molton to the win, with Peter Varley netting for Ilfracombe. The win takes North Molton up to second behind unbeaten leaders Braunton. Torrington and Park United have also started their season well, but it was the Sandymere side who came away from Vicarage Field with all three points on Saturday. Torrington started brightly and enjoyed sights at goal before Ricky Marinaros right foot swung the match in Parks favour before half-time. First, one of his free kicks struck the wall before Marc Austin turned the ball in from inside the penalty area. It was another dead ball which enabled Park to double their lead, with Marinaro sending a free-kick past Luke Bewes and into his top left corner. Hartland Clovelly dropped their first points of the season with a 4-4 draw against a persistent Landkey Town. Goals from Liam Hawkins, Alfie Moulden and Liam Kerswell helped the visitors fight back from two goals down three times over the course of the match. At the other end of the table, Shebbear United are still looking for their first win of the season after losing 3-2 to Fremington. Fremmy were looking for their first win since an opening day victory over Park United. Goals from Lee Capner, Simon Larcombe and Andy King put the visitors 3-0 up before Shebbear began to mount a comeback. Greg Mitchell and Shaun Sluggett pulled goals back for the home side, but ran out of time to find an equaliser. Bradworthy picked up their first win of the season at the expense of Barnstaple FC in the Premiers other Saturday game. Mike Sampson, Shane Shadrick and a Toby Curtis penalty helped the Horniwinks to the three points, while Barnstaple are still searching for the first win of the new season.Senior A full complement of North Devon Senior matches took place on Saturday, with all 16 teams in action. The big winners were Chivenor, playing away at Putford in their first game of the new season. They picked up three points in emphatic style, winning 9-1. Matt Church scored four times for Chivenor and Sam Van Weenen picked up a brace. Liam Kelly, Johnathan Dolan and Matt Davies also scored for the visitors. Saturday saw Pilton Academicals defeated for the first time this season. Off the back of an 11-0 win over High Bickington on Wednesday night, Pilton were beaten 3-2 by Northam Lions at Burrough Farm. Pilton top the table on goal difference ahead of Ilfracombe Town Thirds and Merton, with both picking up wins on Saturday. The Bluebirds beat Shamwickshire Rovers Reserves 4-2 at the Sham Siro, with two goals from Ben Garness. Ray Squire and Connor McKechnie also scored. Merton were 4-2 winners at home to Kilkhampton. Appledore Reserves got their second win of the season with a 6-0 win over Georgeham and Croyde. There were braces for Hallum Cook and substitute Joe Wretham in the win, with Connor Davis and Charlie Webb also finding the net for the Fishermen. There was also a second win of the season for Fremington Reserves, who beat Braunton Reserves 2-1 after goals from Sam Nash and substitute Jamie Rolfe. Chittlehampton were 3-0 winners at Combe Martin and Stratton United beat High Bickington 4-1.Intermediate One Bideford CAFC Reserves sit at the top of Intermediate One after a 2-1 victory over Equalizers on Saturday. Goals from Ben Musselwhite and Josh Reynolds made it four wins out of four for Bideford. Steve Isaacs responded for Equalizers. North Molton Reserves are second after an 8-0 win over Lynton and Lynmouth. Matt Yates scored a hat-trick in the win, with Harrison Baker-Brown, Oliver Chalk, Danny Crocker, Thomas Fanthorpe and Blake Ladley also scoring. South Molton and Appledore Lions shared the points in one of three score draws on Saturday. In a 3-3 draw, Simon Collings, James OConnor and David Isaac netted for Molton, while Mark Kinder, Sam Morris and Liam Astbury scored for Lions. Haxton Rangers and Bridgerule drew 4-4, and Holsworthy Reserves and Braunton drew 2-2. Hartland Clovelly Reserves got their first win, beating Northam Lions Reserves 3-2.Intermediate Two There were emphatic wins for Park Rangers and Appledore Thirds in Intermediate Two on Saturday. Park beat Georgeham and Croyde Reserves 10-1, with goals coming from Kieran Ford (3), Rhys Curtis (2), Bradley Jennings (2), Josh Braddick, Sam Dixon and Seb Dunkley. Appledore were 6-0 winners over Bradworthy Reserves. Torridgeside Thirds were 4-2 winners over Bridgerule Reserves, with two goals for Alfie Stevens, and Braunton Fourths beat Eastside 3-1. Hartland Clovelly Thirds beat Woolsery 2-1.
