Bideford’s frustrating start to 2016 continued on Saturday, as they went down to two second half goals against Cambridge City.

The Robins, who were taking part in only their second game of the calendar year, struggled to get into their stride in a windy encounter in East Anglia, with the goals for the home side coming from Fehmi Kaan and James Hall.

The loss stretches Bideford’s winless run to 11 games, with them remaining bottom of the Evo-stik Southern League Premier Division.

Bideford started on the back foot, with goalkeeper Kyle Moore being called into action inside seven minutes to deny a close range shot.

Cambridge had chances throughout the first half, despite having the wind against them, but at half-time the score remained goalless.

The home side broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half after a wind-assisted kick from goalkeeper Zac Barrett found Kaan.

Cambridge’s second goal came after 81 minutes, with James Hall scoring from a tight angle.
Last night, Bideford travelled back to Cambridgeshire in a 3-1 loss to St Neots Town.
