New Barnstaple FC Reserves continued to make their presence felt with a third successive win 3-1 at home to Anchor Chiefs Reserves.
Keith McClure netted twice and Dale Russell hit the other to make them early league leaders, ahead of Northam Lions 3rds on goal difference.
The Lions won 3-1 away to Woolsery for their third straight victory. Mark Widnell scored two of their goals from the penalty spot and the other came from Alistair Bright.
Young Braunton 4ths, made up mainly of last season’s under-16s, also maintained their 100 per cent record with a second win 4-0 at home to Georgeham and Croyde Reserves. Matt Bull, Nathan Knight and Alan Woodcock (2) scored the goals and keeper James Greenaway kept a clean sheet with a late penalty save.
Buckland Brewer chalked up their first win of the new season with an emphatic 7-0 result over previously unbeaten Chittlehampton Reserves.
They dominated throughout and scored through from Marcus Jarvis (2), Simon Adams (2), one of them from the penalty spot, Dan Vanstone, Kyle Waldron and Tom Ousley.
It was a tough weekend for Chittle, who were missing 17 players throughout the club through Bank Holiday and work engagements, with the reserves manager having a late rush to find players to fill the gaps.
There were seven changes from the team which gained them a 4-0 midweek result at South Molton.
Hartland Reserves topped a local derby at home to Woolsery Reserves 4-2 midweek and followed up with a 1-1 draw away to North Molton 3rds on Saturday with a goal by Richard Johns.
