Striker hits a hat-trick as Northam march on under new man Davey
NORTHAM Lions Reserves continued their impressive turnaround with a 5-0 win in Barnstaple against Equalizers on Saturday.
Trevor May scored a hat-trick and there were singles for Cosmo Ayres and Jack Lisle as the Lions picked up 10 points from 12 under new manager Ben Davey.
The result sees Northam climb to eighth in the table.
With the top three sides in county cup duty, fourth-placed Ilfracombe Town Reserves closed the gap to two points, Daniel Wright scoring all four goals in a 4-1 win against Hartland at Killacleave.
Michael Nugent scored the consolation for the visitors.
High Bickington bounced back from last week’s defeat against Hartland to beat Sporting Barum 5-4, while Woolacombe & Mortehoe scored two on their trip to Putford.
Stuart Haynes scored the first for Woolacombe and Jamie Duffield followed up with a neat 30-yard lob before the hosts pulled one back 15 minutes from the end.
