Sean Joyce and Barry Yeo have both had their say on their teams fixtures for the upcoming Evo-Stik Southern League campaign.

Barnstaple Town and Bideford's respective managers have had their say on their clubs fixtures for the season.

The fixtures for the Evo-Stik Southern League were released today, with both Barum and the Robins in Division One South and West.

Barnstaple's first month in the Southern League is a challenging one, with the club facing two of last season's play-off teams in the form of Taunton Town and Swindon Supermarine.

After playing Paulton Rovers, who were relegated from the Premier, Barum play Hereford before hosting Bideford - all before September.

Barnstaple Manager Barry Yeo said: "I'm delighted. I'm not going to say it's favourable with the start with what we've got, but it just shows what this league is about.

"You can see the challenge that lies in front of us, it's going to be tough, but it's something that we're looking forward to and we're going to enjoy it; we can start putting things in place for those early games now.

"To get a home game is a good way to start and then we go away to Taunton who finished third last season.

"You look at that as a month and it's a tough, tough start, but that's the league we're in and we're looking forward to it."

Bideford begin their season at Mangotsfield United, who finished their season in the South and West in 14th, before hosting Tiverton Town.

The Robins were relegated from the Premier Division along with Paulton Rovers, who will travel to the Sports Ground on October 22.

Bideford manager Sean Joyce said: "You look at the start and the teams we have, there are no easy ones.

"It is what it is. You can look at the fixtures, but I prefer to look at the season as a whole.

"It will be a tough season for everyone, because it's a good league with a lot of strong teams with good squads."
