Ilfracombe Town Thirds took a big step towards the North Devon Gazette Football League Intermediate Two title on Saturday.They defeated Fremington reserves 2-0 to continue their unbeaten season and end Fremingtons. Coach Clem Bennellick said: Its a huge win for us. It gives us an advantage, but there are still a few games left before the end of the season. In the Premier, the title race is far from decided as Braunton and Torridgeside remain neck and neck. Braunton defeated Barnstaple FC 8-1 thanks to goals from Adam Baxter (2), Ross Maynard (2), Steve Burley (2), Joe Seldon and Ben Aitken. Torridgeside ensured they remain at the top by beating Appledore Reserves 4-1, thanks to a brace from Kyle Paine and a goal each for Marc and Neil Bettiss. Torrington kept within touch of the leaders by beating Bradworthy 4-0. Goals came from Matt Bryce (2), Nathan Delaune and Danny Jenkins. In the Senior Division, Braunton Reserves remain top thanks to a 7-1 win over Chittlehampton. An Oliver Stevens hat-trick paved the way for the victory, with Alan Woodcock (2), Stephen Filsell and Stanley Whittaker also scoring. Hartland kept up the pressure on Braunton by winning 7-1 themselves, against North Molton Reserves. Keith Cornish scored a hat-trick, with Daniel Gifford (2), Rob Slee and Wayne Hobbs also scoring. In Intermediate One, Braunton Thirds were able to remain at the top after being awarded a walkover win over Anchor Chiefs. The home side were unable to fulfill the fixture. Tristan Leech got the decisive goal for Ilfracombe Town Reserves to end High Bickingtons run of good form.
