Bideford Community AFC Reserves maintained their barnstorming start to the season with an impressive 16-0 win at Braunton Fourths on Saturday.
Mischa Howe and Danny Jenkins helped themselves to five goals each as Braunton were powerless to stem a tsunami of Bideford attempts at the Recreation Ground.
High-tempo attacking football also produced doubles for Bideford’s Ross McNicholas and Ryan Sanders (one from the penalty spot) and singles for Billy Blackburn and Dan Crouch.
Bideford will hope to make it nine wins from nine when they travel to Merton on Saturday.
Results elsewhere also fell in Bideford’s favour as second-placed Ilfracombe Town Thirds and thirdplaced Fremington Reserves shared the points in a 4-4 draw at Killacleave.
Ollie Coles, James Harker, Kingsley Jackson and Brodie Montague scored the goals for Ilfracombe. Kevin Waters scored twice for Fremington and there were goals for Adam Cornish and James Galliford.
The two sides will meet at Killacleave again on November 14, this time in the quarter final of the North Devon Journal League Cup.
In the division’s only other result on Saturday, Hartland Reserves and Woolsery Reserves had to settle for a point each in a 1-1 derby draw.
