A shaky week has seen Bideford drop into the relegation places in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.
The Robins were hammered 5-0 by Histon at the Sports Ground on Saturday, and drew 0-0 at Paulton Rovers on bank holiday Monday.
Saturday’s defeat would have been of huge concern to Robins boss Sean Joyce - it was only Histon’s second win of the season - but a point on Monday at least showed a decent response.
Bideford were 3-0 down after 20 minutes to Histon, with goals coming from McGowan, Auger and Ives.
Two second-half goals completed the drubbing. Ives netted again and Nicholson added a fifth on 80 minutes.
Monday’s draw came at winless Paulton, leaving Bideford on five points from their first seven games and down in 21st place.
What’s more, they have only scored two goals in six games since their remarkable 4-4 draw with St Neots Town on the opening day of the season.
Bideford play two league games this week. They travel to Slough Town tomorrow (Thurs) and host Hungerford Town on Saturday.
