Burnham 1-3 Bideford
Bideford remain unbeaten in seven away league games as a Sean Downing brace saw them to a 3-1 win at Burnham on Saturday.
The hosts started out the brighter of the two sides and were rewarded with the opening goal when Marc Charles-Smith slotted in the 17th minute.
That lead lasted just five minutes, when the impressive Downing finished cleverly over the goalkeeper.
The sides went in all square at half time, but the Robins came out strongly in the second period and went ahead midway through the half when Burnham’s ‘keeper could only parry a Stephen Reed free-kick back into the path of Downing, who made no mistake and doubled his tally for the afternoon.
The score remained at 2-1 until the final moments, when substitute Owen Howe scored superbly to wrap up a fourth away win of the season for third-placed Bideford.
The Robins now sit just five points behind league leaders Chesham United, and only three points off second-placed Hemel Hempstead.
Bideford go to Weymouth on Tuesday evening, before hosting fourth-placed Cambridge City on Saturday.
