Braunton FC’s U10s recently returned from the 2018 BWCI Mini Soccer Festival in Guernsey.

The Seasiders’ trip to the Channel Islands saw them take on youth teams from all over the UK.

Braunton began their 10-game group competition with a 3-0 win over eventual winners Everton Toffees, and didn’t let up. They finished the group stage unbeaten, topping Group A, without letting in a single goal.

They beat Bristol City 3-0 in the last eight of the competition, but unfortunately the Braunton boys were knocked out in the semi-final to St Pauls.

The U10 side is coached by Jim Jones and Sam Creely. Speaking about the tournament, Jones said: “The boys played incredible football considering the competition and represented the club extremely well on and off of the pitch.

“All players (and parents) made the whole occasion something special to remember it was even better to be topped off by two of the Braunton boys being considered and one of them actually being picked by the Everton coaches as player of the tournament - George Duncan from West Down.”
