Braunton took a huge step towards retaining their North Devon Gazette Football League Premier crown with a 3-2 win over Torridgeside on Saturday.

An individual effort from Simon Townsend was the difference at Donnacroft, with the forward running in on goal and slotting past Adam Williams to give Braunton a nine point advantage at the top of the table.

Boca Seniors look to have wrapped up third place after a 4-1 win over Torrington on Saturday.

Ciaron Lishman scored two from the bench, with Jake Crush and Elliot Whitecross also on target.

At the other end of the table, Shebbear saw out a nervy final 20 minutes to beat Appledore Reserves 3-2.

Goals from Jed Peschke, James Vanstone and Shaun Slugget had put Shebbear 3-0 up in the second half.

But two goals in quick succession from the Fishermen set up a tense finish as Shebbear held on.

Fremington notched a second successive win on Saturday, beating Barnstaple FC 3-1.

Last night (Tuesday) they were due to face Bideford CAFC, but had to surrender the fixture after failing to raise a side.

Senior

Four goals from Greg Holland helped Pilton Academicals to a 7-3 win away at Woolacombe and Mortehoe.

Adam Knight scored two after coming off the bench, with Lloyd Harvey-Bryant completing the scoring.

Jamie Duffield, Stuart Hayes and Joseph Norman scored for Woolacombe.

Braunton Reserves remain at the top of the table thanks to a 2-1 win over Torridgeside Reserves.

Chris Roberts and Alan Woodcock scored for the away side, while Tom Hampton scored for Torridgeside.

But Hartland ensured they kept up with Braunton without playing a game, after being awarded a walkover win against Chivenor.

Shamwickshire Rovers Reserves recovered from a 3-2 defeat at Merton on Saturday by putting five past North Molton Reserves.

James Bateman, Nathan Davis, James Downing, Tom Griffin and Dean Tucker scored for Shammy.

Intermediate One

Ilfracombe Town Reserves consolidated third place with a 1-0 win away at Morwenstow.

Mark Gilfillan scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot.

Barnstaple Reserves picked up their fifth win of the season, beating Landkey Town Reserves 3-0.

Maurice Charley-Marquadt, Paul Freeman and Callum Josselyn scored for Barum.

Meanwhile Appledore Thirds played their fourth game in 10 days, beating Haxton 3-1.

Intermediate Two

Fremington Reserves all but secured their promotion to Intermediate One with an 8-4 win away at Woolsery in midweek.

The fixture looked to be decided early on, with goals from Curtis Netherway, Mark Sanders, Neil Armstrong and Luke Ovey giving Frem a 6-0 lead.

Woolsery responded either side of half-time to make for a nervy second half before Matt Smart and Jamie Rolfe boosted Fremington.

Putford Reserves will be glad to get to the end of the season after losing 9-0 to Georgeham and Croyde Reserves on Saturday.
