ILFRACOMBE Town Ladies made it two wins from two in the Westward Development Devon Women's League on Sunday.

The Bluebirds, who as the former Georgeham & Croyde finished bottom of Division One last season, grabbed a 1-0 win at home to Brixham Villa to maintain joint top spot in the table with Bay Ladies.

Kirsty Quartly scored the decisive early second-half goal for 'Combe, in a game later held up for 25 minutes to allow an ambulance onto the field to pick up prolific Villa striker Leanne Hunt, who was accidentally injured in a tussle for the ball.

In the Premier Division, Bideford Ladies slipped to their second straight defeat, this time against league leaders Activate. Amy Witney found the net for the Robins, but two own goals and a Jodie Martin strike secured a 3-1 win for the Plymouth team.

Bideford are at home to Alphington on Sunday while Ilfracombe entertain leaders Bay Ladies.
