ILFRACOMBE Town striker Shaun Lewis is to make the switch to North Devon Toolstation Western League rivals Bideford, it emerged last night (Monday).Bluebirds manager Barry Yeo told the Gazette that the Marlborough Park hit-man had decided to accept a big money offer tabled by the Robins."We did everything we could to keep him," conceded Yeo."Obviously, we're disappointed as we'd hoped that he'd stay but there's no hard feelings at all. "We wish him all the best - he's a terrific player, works 100 per cent and got my manager's player of the year last season." But Yeo said he was "not too worried" about an immediate replacement for the Bickington-based player, who has spent the last three seasons at 'Combe."In Leon Taswell, we've got a natural goal scorer and I have great hopes for 20-year-old James Davey, who we introduced to the side last season."He's quick, raw and has a lot to learn, but potentially, he's got the game. "James will get his chance this season and hopefully, he'll take it.""Also, I signed an experienced centre forward in Andy Stevens a couple of week's ago and he will bring something different to the side."He's been there and done it and will help bring on our younger centre forwards."Bideford secretary Kevin Tyrell confirmed that Lewis would be travelling with Bideford to a friendly at Saltash tonight."He hasn't signed the forms with us yet but we hope that he will become a Bideford player very soon," he said.
