The Bideford over 50s team were crowned Devon Champions on Sunday.
Bideford AFC’s walking football team has been crowned Devon champions.
The club sealed the title on Sunday as the Devon Walking Football League’s final rounds of fixtures took place at Paignton.
Bideford played two Exeter City teams and Torbay twice each in the final round, with three wins enough to become the first ever Devon county champions.
Coach Pete Davey said: “We’re absolutely delighted.
“It’s a great achievement, especially to think we’re just little old Bideford.”
Club treasurer Andy Grainge echoed the sentiment.
He said: “Most of us thought we would never play football again so to be crowned Devon champions in our first season is a fantastic achievement.”
The club isn’t planning to wait for next season’s Devon league.
Bideford are in the process of entering this year’s Walking Football United competition.
The event will initially see Bideford facing other teams in the South West during the summer.
The club is also hosting a tournament over the May Bank Holiday, with all proceeds going to North Devon Hospice.
