A waterlogged pitch ended the Robins’ hopes of ending a three-game losing run.

Bideford will have to wait a little longer to bring their losing run in the Southern League to an end.

Their match at AFC Totton in Division One South and West was abandoned at half-time.

With one touchline submerged and pockets of standing water all over the pitch at Testwood Stadium, referee Phillip Stayings was left with little choice but to call the game off.

The score stood at 1-1 when the teams went in at half-time.

Bideford had gone behind in the fourth minute through Charlie Gunson.

Dan Western levelled things up for Bideford five minutes before the break, knocking the ball past Pat O'Flannery after Sean Downing's knock-down.

Bideford will now have to make the near-300-mile round-trip all over again later on in the month.

The home side will no longer be playing for their place in Division One South and West, after Wantage Town's defeat against Hereford sealed their place as the second and final team to be relegated.

Bideford are on their travels again next weekend, travelling to Slimbridge, who lost 3-1 to Barnstaple Town this afternoon.
