Bideford Ladies’ unbeaten start to the South West Women’s Football League Western Division season continued on Sunday with a 5-0 defeat of Pen Mill Ladies.
The Robins dispatched the league newcomers, who won the league and cup competitions in Somerset last season, with relative east at the Sports Ground.
They pressured the visitors from the start and took the lead after 20 minutes when Emma Stoneman lofted the ball over the goalkeeper.
Caz Parsons doubled the lead with a dipping shot from the edge of the box which stopped in the top corner. Parsons laid the ball into Rohanna Little’s path for her to get Bideford’s third before half time.
Pen Mill went on the attack in the second half but left gaps. Neat interplay from Phoebe Oreshko and Rohanna Little set up Beth Ellis, who added Bideford’s fourth.
Little then showed great skill out wide before a driven cross was put away fromU18 Hannah Neave for her first senior goal.
The Robins will look to continue their solid start, which has them fourth in the Western Division, with a trip to Plymouth Argyle Reserves this Sunday.
