Bideford Ladies are up to third in the South West Women’s Football League Wester Division after an emphatic win over Exeter and Tedburn Rangers on Sunday.

The Robins were 7-1 winners at Barley Park, controlling the game from the first whistle to get their fifth league win of the season.

Caz Parsons opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Sam Ayres was pushed, and Beth Ellis rounded the goalkeeper to score Bideford’s second goal shortly after.

Ayres headed in from a Phoebe Baker corner to make it 3-0 before U18 Hannah Neve outpaced the Exeter and Tedburn defence to thump in a fourth before half time.

Bideford added three more goals after the break, with two finishes from Ellis completing her hat-trick as well as a well taken goal from Baker, who finished from a tight angle.

The hosts were able to get a consolation goal as the game neared its conclusion from a free kick.

Bideford are at home this Sunday, with Weston-super-Mare visiting the Sports Ground. Kick off is at 2pm.
