Bideford AFC will host League Two side Plymouth Argyle in a pre-season friendly next month.

The Pilgrims will be making the trip to the Sports Ground on Saturday, July 18, for a 3pm kick-off.

Bideford club secretary Kevin Tyrell told the club's website: "Kilmarnock and Blackpool were the last league clubs to visit Biddy a few years back in the Joma Cup, but for Plymouth to agree to bring their first team up here is massive for our club.

"We hope to get a good crowd in to watch the new 15/16 Robins team pit their wits against one of only two league clubs in Devon."

Argyle narrowly missed out on promotion to League One last season, losing in the play-offs last month.

They will be looking to sharpen up against the Robins, with new manager Derek Adams at the helm.

Tickets will cost £10 for adults, £5 for OAPS and £2 for under 16s. Under 12s will go free.
