Barnstaple score three in first round Les Phillips Cup win

BARNSTAPLE Town made it through to the next round of the Les Phillips Cup with a 3-0 win against Corsham Town at Mill Road on Saturday.

Barum took the lead on 30 minutes when Stan Paxton headed home a Ricky Marinaro cross.

Corsham, who are struggling in the league and have failed to win on the road this season, conceded a second midway through the second half when Steve Shore headed in from a corner.

The hosts guaranteed their place in the second round when new loan signing Dan Hart scored a third with 10 minutes to go.

Barnstaple will play Division one side Gillingham Town at Mill Road in the next round.

On Saturday, Barnstaple travel to Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) side Bournemouth in the in the FA Carlsberg Vase.
