Barry Yeo has bolstered his defence with the signing of Craig Allan from Paulton Rovers.

Barnstaple Town have bolstered their defence with the signing of central defender Craig Allan.

Allan spent last season playing in the Evo-Stik Southern League for Paulton Rovers, but made seven appearances for Barum while recovering from an injury.

The 26-year-old reunites with Barnstaple manager Barry Yeo, after playing for him at Ilfracombe Town between 2011 and 2012.

"We're delighted to have Craig on board," said Yeo.

"We wanted to get him on board last season but he stayed loyal to Paulton, so we looked to get him in for this season.

"I had him at Ilfracombe and I've kept my eye on him over the years.

"He's got great experience - he's played in the Southern League Premier and Division One - he's quick, tall and strong, so he fits the bill nicely.

"He made some appearances for us last season to help with his fitness after injury, and I don't think we conceded a goal with him in."

Allan will face his former team this season in the Southern League Division One South and West, after Paulton were relegated

from the Premier division alongside Bideford, a team Allan has also made appearances for.

He will also face another former side in the form of Bridgwater Town, who he spent two seasons with following his time at Ilfracombe.
