BARNSTAPLE Town manager Pete Buckingham told the Gazette that he is looking forward to the start of the new season on August 9 - and is setting his sights on a top-six finish! The Barum boss has signed three strikers during the summer break to bolster the Western League Premier side's chances.Lewis Irish has joined the ranks from Southern League side Bridgwater, while Simon Bochenski has returned to North Devon from Tiverton. Former Georgeham player Mike Biggs is the third forward to be brought in."I've signed some firepower to support Kevin Squire, our leading goal scorer last season," he said."That means there will be fierce competition for places and also that Danny Tapp, who supported Kevin up front last season, can return to centre-half this term. We used 40 different players last season and are looking for a lot more stability this time. We're looking for a much better season and have set the players the target of a top-six finish.
