FORTY three teams will contest the men’s North Devon Triples Bowls League for the next 10 weeks.

Ilfracombe A, newly promoted to Division 2, opened their campaign with a maximum points win at home to Lynton and Lynmouth.

Byeways A, promoted to Division 3 as runners-up, started with a maximum points victory away to Holsworthy A, the team that pipped them on shots difference for the Division 4 title last season.

United Services B chalked up a massive Division 6 win, beating Torrington A 81-39, with the rink of Bob Withacombe, Brian Treadwell and Des Adams winning 40-7.
