North Devon’s Miller and Ansell hold out for stalemate.
NORTH Devon held on for a draw at Cornwood in the Premier Division with their last pair at the crease.
James Horgan (78) and Scott Mansfield (71) shared a stand of 120 in Cornwood’s total of 222 for five. Jay Corden (3-40) was the pick of the bowlers.
Barney Meadowcroft (72), Scott Amos (34) and Cordon (25) put North Devon in the hunt.
Wickets fell to Jake Horgan (3-43) and Luke Richardson (3-49), leaving Warren Miller and Luke Ansell to block out the last three overs for the draw.
Richard Tidball rolled back the years to put the skids under Budleigh Salterton as Hatherleigh stormed to a 33-run win in the A Division 2nd XI.
Jack Ashmore hit 50 and Ian Cockwill 25 in a stand of 86 for the fifth wicket in Hatherleigh’s total of 187 all out.
Tidball weighed in with 28.
Budleigh’s Matt Murphy – son of 1st XI captain Joel – took four for 29 and skipper James Leat three for 50.
Tidball – 50-plus and still wheeling away – then took six for 32 as Budleigh dipped to 154 all out.
Joe Marley made 50 and Phil Yolland 26, but the last five wickets tumbled for just nine runs as the slump gathered pace.
Braunton opened up a 23-point safety margin over Budleigh at the bottom of the table thanks to a five-wicket win at Bradninch.
Luca Fencl (64) and Rob Acton (47) put on 90 for the fifth wicket in Bradninch’s 175 for seven.
Jason Lathwell took three for 17 and Taylor Latham two for 54.
A stand of 71 between Sam Lathwell (75) and Callum Mitchell (29) pointed Braunton in the right direction.

Bideford were on the end of a 100-run hiding as B Division 2nd XI leaders Plymstock took another step closer to promotion.
Andy Richards (155) and Paul Williams (63no) did the damage as Plymstock posted 269 for two declared.
Marc Woodward then took six for 31 as Bideford were removed for 169 – Reece Stanbury making 80.
