The Bideford Amateur Boxing Club fighter lost by way of a split decision to Jamie Evans.

Jack Langford's Elite Championship run came to an end at the weekend.

The Bideford boxer lost by way of a split decision to Dowlais ABC's Jamie Evans.

Langford looked to utilise his jab in the first round, but struggled to pin down his opponent, who counter-punched well.

He began to find his distance in the second round, cutting in off the ring and finding combinations to level things up.

It came down to the last round, with the winner of the third likely to take all.

Langford gave everything and dominated the opening exchanges, but a well-timed counter from Evans forced a standing count.

The Bideford boxer pushed until the end, but couldn't do enough to turn the bout back in his favour.
