Former Bideford amateur lines up Spence clash.
FORMER Bideford ABC boxer Tommy Langford has hung up his headguard and vest to turn over to the pro ranks of boxing.
Langford, 23, faces a tough first pro fight at the HMV Institute in Birmingham on September 8 and is urging fans to get behind him and show their support on the night.
The light-middleweight, from Bideford but now living in Birmingham, will face Steve Spence, who will be stepping into the ring for his 30th fight.
Langford achieved much as an amateur, boxing for England as a junior and senior and also captaining England as a senior.
A winner of junior and senior national titles during more than 100 amateur contests since first setting foot in the Bideford gym as an 11-year-old, he has thrilled boxing fans in North Devon.
He is urging fans to get behind him. For Tickets, priced at £30, call Richard Grigg on 07949 770616.
