They were the first team from Devon to qualify for the South of England finals, and made it through to the national finals in Worcester. The Kingsley girls were one of 900 teams to enter the competition. The girls showed resolute defence on finals day, winning their group and progressing all the way to the semi-finals, where they were beaten in the final seconds of the match. They refocused to win the third-place play-off, though, bringing the bronze medal back to Bideford. They made it to the finals day by winning several more local competitions, beginning with the North Devon championship. They were then crowned Devon champions, before going on to win the South West competition. The Kingsley girls won every match to become southern champions and have done the area proud on the national stage.
