Hatherleigh remain in the A Division bottom two following a 30-run defeat by fellow strugglers Plympton.

Plympton opener Josh Mailling ground out 59 at the top of the order and kept going until he was sixth out at 99.

Imran Ali Pasha’s stands of 52 with Mailling, 26 with Hakeem Abdullah (18) and 42 with Craig Donohue (10) proved crucial in the grand scheme of things.

Pick of the bowlers for Hatherleigh were spinner Mark Lake (2-27) and seamer Sean Letheren (2-36). Chris Jelley had three for 28 but only bowled five overs.

Hatherleigh lost Jack Cherrington and Matt Taylor with the score on 29.

Jelly (19), Gareth Tidball (26) and Charlie Nielson (30) made a dent in the target before Abdullah took out the middle order.

Rob Cockwill put up a fight with 24, but Hatherleigh were all out for 148.
