NORTH Devon gymnasts led the way at the Devon Schools competition in Exeter at the weekend. Kingsley School dominated the senior competition, winning three titles, while the junior titles were shared between West Croft Junior School, Newport Community Primary School and Kingsley School. Newport won the Under-9 Mixed competition, just beating Kingsley. West Croft won the Under-11 Girls event with tremendous vault scores. Kingsley took the Under-11 Mixed title with neat floor routines. Newport vaulted well to secure the bronze .Kingsley's Under-13 Girls just beat the team from St. Peters, while their Under-19 Mixed team were also victorious. Their Under-19 Girls were in impressive form, taking the top scores on each piece. Great Torrington School won the silver medal ahead of Kingsley's second team who took the bronze. A host of individual medals were also achieved by the North Devon gymnasts. Brooke Timmins (Kingsley) won the U9 event, two points ahead of Bea Isaac (Newport), with Harrison East (Kingsley) taking bronze. In the U11s Sophie Johns (Kingsley) finished narrowly ahead of club teammate Jessica Bailey (Appledore), with the bronze medal going to Joe Taylor-Richards (Kingsley). Shauna Davies (Torrington) was North Devon's best in the U13s, winning the silver , while Lauren Parsons and Kate Edwards (Kingsley) shared bronze. Grace Woolway topped the U19s table, with Lauren East and Anna Charles winning silver and bronze respectively.
