FAIRWAY bunker shots can be one of the toughest shots to play. You need to get distance on the shot as well as getting the ball up and over the lip of the bunker. Here is what to do:- Choose your club and grip down on it 1/2 an inch. Then, grip the club quite tightly - this will shorten the muscles in your arms and help you catch the ball cleanly, giving you optimum distance when you hit the ball. Also, focus on the top of the ball when you hit it. This will help you to avoid hitting the sand first which will kill the shot.Happy GolfingMike WilsonProfessionalRoyal North Devon Golf Club(01237) 477598
