A marathon three-night session for Steve Pinn at Stafford Moor near Dolton saw him land an amazing 44 fish.

They all came from the Sunset Swim on Lodge Lake to krill boilies.

Meanwhile Gary Mills and his friend Dennis had 11 fish out between them on the Beach Swim at Beatties Lake, best of 21lb.

James Snell had a dozen fish in a 48 hour session from the dam wall on Lodge up to 17lb 4oz.

On the sea front, summer is definitely here and anglers have had good sport with bass – don’t forget one fish per day can now be retained if you so desire.

Mackerel have been showing at the usual North Devon marks too and it’s been a good year for rays both locally and further up the Bristol Channel.

Bideford’s monthly rover at the start of July saw Dan Redmore take first with a cracking plaice of 3lb 6, while Paul Downing was joint second with a good undulate ray of 11lb 12 – Graham Snow also sharing the honours with a mullet of 3lb 14.

Andrew Clements was third with a 3lb 6 mullet.

Bideford’s rover over the weekend just gone saw Graham Snow take first with a 3lb 15 mullet, while Antony Smith was second with a mackerel of 1lb 2 ½ and Andy Clements third with a wrasse of 3lb 10 ¾.
