Millennium Trophy success plus £1,114 for the Chemo Appeal.

SUCCESS came early this season to South Molton Bowling Club when they won the Millennium Trophy.

South Molton won convincingly with a creditable 228 points – Combe Martin with 206 points just edged out Bideford Strand for second place by two points.

The tournament is unusual in its format: each of the seven clubs taking part hosts one triple from each of the six other clubs and they also send one triple to play away at the other clubs - so in all 252 players take part on the same night.

The competition raised a total of £1,114 which has been donated towards the new Chemotherapy Unit at North Devon District Hospital.
